About
Hello my name is Dean Mantz. I have been directly involved in education for the last 14 years in for USD #405. I am now starting year 15 working for USD#376. My childhood background includes both parents working as educators for several years. It is through my parents that I have learned to appreciate educators and develop such a strong passion to educate the future leaders of this country. I am very fortunate to be married to an exceptional special education instructor and be the father of two fabulous children. I am so proud of them! One thing I have come to learn is that there are times “what goes around comes around”. I am just referring to how my children get into arguments. It reminds me of how my sister and I were for our parents.
I hope you find my blog interesting and thought provoking. I plan on providing my personal views on different issues as well as providing insight into a variety of technology and Web2.0 tools than can be used to enhance education. I am currently a nationally certified LoTi mentor as well as an Intel mentor teacher. But I can not forget one of my deepest interests, Discovery Education. I am privileged to have been asked to serve on the Kansas Leadership Council with three fellow STAR members. These folks have been a positive influence on my use of Discovery Education and I look to assist them in spreading the benefits and opportunities of the Discovery products across the state of Kansas.
